Baseball Closes Southern Swing with 1-0 Loss to #13 Ramapo

Lakeland, Fla. – The Framingham State University baseball team closed their spring training trip at the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational with a 1-0 loss this afternoon to 13th ranked Ramapo.  The Rams close the week long excursion at 4-7 and are now 4-8 overall on the young season.

Sophomore Ryan Bowen (Hudson, Mass.) was outstanding on the mound for the Rams despite suffering the loss. Bowen tossed eight strong innings surrendering one earned run on 11 hits with three strikeouts and a walk.  Freshman Patrick Holden (Stoneham, Mass.) tossed an inning of scoreless relief.

Ryan Rinski went 3-for-4 in the game for Ramapo and drove in the game's only run on an RBI single in the second inning.  Daniel LaRocca went the distance on the hill for Ramapo scattering four hits in nine innings of work with three strikeouts and four walks.

Sophomore John Gill (Hudson, Mass.), freshman Austin Teal (Malden, Mass.), sophomore Cameron Couillard (North Andover, Mass.) and sophomore Matt Gerard (Milford, Mass.) all picked up hits for the Rams in the contest.
