Blydell Drives in Four as Baseball Rallies for 9-4 Win Over UMass Dartmouth

North Dartmouth, Mass.-Visiting Framingham State scored six runs in the top of the seventh and went on to defeat the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's baseball team, 9-4, in a non-conference game at the UMass Dartmouth Athletic Complex Wednesday afternoon.

The Rams got a two-run double from junior shortstop Chris Blydell (Lynn, MA) and run-scoring singles from senior designated hitter Corey Ketterer (Plymouth, MA) and junior right fielder Pedro Acevedo (New Britain, CT) and took advantage of two errors to break a 3-3 tie and take the lead for good.

The Corsairs had taken a 1-0 lead on senior catcher Zac Talis' (Lynnfield, MA) RBI single in the bottom of the third inning, and added two more runs in the fourth on a run-scoring single by sophomore left fielder Cory Albanese (Weymouth, MA) and a sacrifice fly by senior shortstop Ryan McDermott (Pembroke, MA).

The Rams tied it on a fielder's choice in the fifth and an RBI single by senior third baseman Danny Chaisson (Watertown, MA) in the sixth. Talis doubled home UMD's final run in the seventh.

Junior Jimmy Borden (Lexington, MA) earned the win in relief for FSU, while Brunette took the loss.

The Corsairs fall to 6-7 with the defeat, while the Rams improve to 8-7 with the victory. UMass Dartmouth will return to action when they host UMass Boston in a doubleheader Saturday, while the Rams will visit Bridgewater State Saturday at noon.
