56 Student-Athletes Named to MASCAC All-Academic Team

Framingham, Mass. - Framingham State College placed 56 student-athletes on the 2008-2009 Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC) All-Academic Team.  The team was announced yesterday by MASCAC Commissioner Angela Baumann and honored nearly 750 total MASCAC student-athletes from the eight MASCAC institutions.

The field hockey team led the way with nine students-athletes named to the team while ice hockey, women's lacrosse and softball each had eight student-athletes honored.

To be eligible a student-athlete must have competed in a varsity sport and achieved a 3.20 cumulative or semester-based grade point average during the course of the recently completed academic year.  Entering its 39th year of existence, the MASCAC is comprised of eight NCAA Division III member institutions:  Bridgewater State College, Fitchburg State College, Framingham State College, MCLA, Massachusetts Maritime Academy, Salem State College, Westfield State College and Worcester State College.  For the complete list of honorees, please visit www.mascac.com.
