IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING CAMPUS WEATHER EMERGENCY

IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING CAMPUS WEATHER EMERGENCY – Ice Hockey Game Postponed, Basketball Games Moved to Sunday

Dear Students:

As I am sure you are aware, the National Weather Service has predicted a very large snow event for our area beginning tomorrow afternoon. Framingham State University will be closed tomorrow, Friday February 8 and Saturday, February 9. All classes, events, and activities are cancelled on these days. In anticipation of the closure and the weather event, please note:

1. All students should monitor their text and e-mail messages regularly over the next several days for FSU Alerts.

2. Shuttle services (including parking lot service and Ram Tram) will be suspended beginning at noon tomorrow. Normal hours will resume on Sunday. Please note: Campus Police will be unable to provide rides to resident student parking lots during the weather emergency. Students leaving cars on campus should be prepared to shovel their vehicles out upon return to campus.

3. Because state officials anticipate widespread and prolonged power outages, we are strongly encouraging Resident students to return home to weather the storm.

4. Parking in Maynard, O’Connor, Adams Road, Larned, Church, McCarthy Center, Maple Commuter and A-Zone lots is prohibited during Friday and Saturday. Resident students who have cars on campus and who choose to stay in residence this weekend must use their assigned lots.

5. The Dining Commons will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday. All Sodexho retail locations will be closed on Friday. The Dining Commons will be open on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Sandella’s will open from 8 p.m. to midnight on Saturday and the Ram’s Den Grille will be open from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m.

6. Guest parking will not be allowed this weekend (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday).

7. The Library will be closed on Friday and Saturday with resumption of normal hours on Sunday.

8. Health Services will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 12 noon tomorrow, Friday the 8th.

9. The Athletic Center will  be open from 10:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Regular hours will resume on Sunday.

Please take great care of yourself and those around you during this weather emergency – be safe!
