43 Rams Named to Fall 2010 MASCAC All-Academic Team

Buzzards Bay, Mass. — Nearly 500 student-athletes, including 43 student-athletes from Framingham State University, have been honored by the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference with selection to the league’s Fall 2010 All-Academic Team as announced by MASCAC Commissioner Angela Baumann this afternoon.

Buzzards Bay, Mass. — The Framingham State University volleyball team placed three players on the 2010 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Volleyball All-Conference Second Team in voting conducted by the conference’s seven coaches. Jessi Goode (Marston Mills, Mass.), Maribeth Martin (Marston Mills, Mass.) and Andressa Fernandes (Framingham, Mass.) all received second-team honors.

Bridgewater, Mass. – The Framingham State University volleyball team closed the regular season today going 2-1 at the Bridgewater State Halloween Quad. The Rams opened the day with 3-0 wins over Worcester State University and Massachusetts Maritime before closing the day with a 3-0 setback to the host Bridgewater State Bears.

Boston, Mass. — The Framingham State University volleyball team snapped a two game losing streak with a 3-0 win on the road tonight over Suffolk University in a non-conference women’s volleyball match. With the win, the Rams improve to 16-12 on the year, while the loss drops the Suffolk Rams to 10-16.

Worcester, Mass. -- Westfield State junior Alex Shaw (E. Falmouth, MA) notched totals of 23 kills and six blocks while sophomore Kelsey Leonard (Billerica, MA) added 21 kills and 13 blocks to help lead the Owls to a 3-1 victory over Framingham State and a 3-0 triumph over Worcester State to up their season marks to 15-10 and 4-0 in MASCAC play.
