Bio

Kristina Kern enters her eighth year at the helm of the Rams women's soccer program in 2021. The Framingham State alum and member of the FSU Athletic Hall of Fame posted a 14-7-1 record in her first season leading the Rams to the ECAC Div. III New England Championship.

The 2015 campaign saw the Rams post an overall record of 11-8-2 and featured apperances in both the MASCAC and ECAC tournaments.

Prior to returning to FSU, Kern spent the previous eight years as the girls’ varsity soccer coach at Holliston High School. During her time at Holliston, Kern’s Panthers were league champions in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2013.  She coached players who have gone on to play at all three levels of the NCAA.  In addition to her duties overseeing the Panthers varsity, junior varsity and freshman programs at Holliston, Kern was the director of the Panther Premier Soccer Camp.

Graduating from Framingham State in 2003 with a degree in human services, Kern was the Rams starting goalkeeper for four years and compiled a 53-17-3 record in net as the team won three MASCAC Regular Season Championships, two MASCAC Tournament Championships and made the program’s first three appearances in the NCAA Tournament.  She holds eight women’s soccer records and received multiple honors from the conference including being named the MASCAC Women’s Soccer Rookie of the Year in 1998 and to the All-Conference team multiple times.

Kern, who also was a member of the softball team at Framingham State, was a two time all-conference selection in softball as an outfielder.  She finished her softball career holding six individual records including the Rams record for hits which has since been broken. 

After finishing her playing career at Framingham State, Kern played soccer for the Gold Coast League in Australia and has coached for club teams including the Boston Breakers, the PUMA Football Club and the New England Football Club.
