Bridgewater, Mass. – Bridgewater State junior forwards Emma Sanders (Seekonk, Mass.) and Alana Vincent (Taunton, Mass.) tallied two goals apiece to lead the Bears women's soccer team to a 4-2 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) victory over visiting Framingham State University on Saturday at Swenson Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Junior forward Erin Angelillo (Southington, Conn.) scored off the rebound of her own blocked shot to stake the visitors to an early 1-0 lead just 3:10 into the game.
  • The Bears answered in the 9th minute as Sanders scored off the rebound of a blocked shot. Freshman forward Delaney Langton (Scituate, Mass.) ripped a shot from the left side that was blocked by a Framingham defender and deflected off Sander's knee and into the back of the net.
  • Vincent got behind the Framingham defense and beat the Framingham netminder with a shot inside the left post in the 11th minute. Junior defender Kaitlyn Bongarzone (Mansfield, Mass.) assisted on the goal as she sent Vincent in with a long thru-ball.
  • Vincent potted her second goal of the day, and team-leading fourth of the season, in the 27thminute off a cross from junior forward Amelia Burke (Plymouth, Mass.). Vincent's shot from the top of the 18 beat the keeper through the five-hole.
  • A perfectly placed shot by FSU freshman forward Olivia Mihalek (Northborough, Mass.) from 28-yards out in the 41st minute cut the deficit to 3-2. Mihalek's shot went off the bottom of the crossbar, off the left post and inside the right post.
  • The two teams would head to the break with Bridgewater holding onto the 3-2 lead.
