Women’s Soccer Predicted to Finish Fourth in MASCAC Pre-Season Poll

Framingham, Mass.—The Framingham State women's soccer team has been predicted to finish fourth in the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference preseason poll selected by the eight coaches from around the league.

The Rams finished the conference season at 4-3 and an overall record of 8-11 in 2016. Kayla Alstrom led the squad last season with four goals and four assists for 12 points with two game-winners.

Worcester State took the top spot with three first place votes for 45 points. Up next in second with four first place votes for 43 points is Bridgewater State. Taking home the final first place vote in third place is Westfield State with 41 points.

Tied in the fourth spot are the Rams and Salem State both with 27 points. Fitchburg State lands in the sixth spot with 18 points. Rounding out the pool in seventh and eighth places are MCLA and Massachusetts Maritime with 16 and seven points, respectively.

The 2017 MASCAC women's soccer season will begin for the Rams on Saturday, Sept. 2nd when they travel to Clark University for a 1:00 p.m. start.
