Women’s Lacrosse Picked Second in MASCAC Preseason Poll

Framingham, Mass.- The Framingham State women's lacrosse team has been chosen to finish second in the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) preseason poll as voted on by the eight coaches around the league.

The Rams received 42 points and one first place vote after making the program's first MASCAC Tournament Championship Appearance in 2018.

The Rams finished second in the MASAC regular season in 2018 with a 6-1 record in the league and 16-3 mark overall ranking 5th in Div. III in assists per game with 9.53 and the program's first NCAA Regional Ranking.

Leading the way for the Rams will be All-Conference First Teamer and IWLCA All-Region selection Grace Gamache (Dartmouth, Mass.). Gamache was the league's top scorer last year with 111 points, including a MASCAC leading 56 assists being only the second player in conference history with 100 points in a season. Her 55 goals were second in the conference and she was the leader in draw controls with 114.

The Rams also return two-time All-MASCAC midfielder Nicole Pacheco (Woburn, Mass.) who led the team with 50 GBs and 36 CTs while accruing 38 goals and 19 assists. Returning on attack is sophomore Alissa Marino (Trumball, Conn.) who was named MASCAC Rookie of the Week twice last season making 17 starts and scoring 42 goals, good for third on the team.

The Rams are anchored by their four captains- seniors Bailey Donelly (Framingham, Mass.), Indigo Fox Tree-McGrath (Bedford, Mass.), Shae Riley (Fairhaven, Mass.) and junior Casey Bradley (Canton, Mass.). Donelly was a 2nd-Team All-MASCAC selection on defense in 2018 being joined in the backfield by Bradley who has started every game over the past two seasons for the Rams. Riley missed the 2018 season with an injury and looks to jump back into the Rams offense after a strong 2017 campaign. Fox Tree-McGrath returns in net after twice being named 2nd-Team All-MASCAC with a 9.1 GAA last year, stopping 46.9% of shots and picking up 37 ground balls.
