HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Plymouth State started the scoring early in the first quarter off a goal by sophomore Mariah Luscher (Holderness, N.H.). Luscher was able to fire in a rebound in the circle when junior Haley Wakefield's (Norway, Maine) shot was blocked by a defender in front of the net.
  • PSU tacked on another goal just nine seconds later when sophomore Leah Mayes (Lebanon, N.H.) redirected a shot from classmate Jess Mezquita(Atkinson, N.H.).
  • In the first five minutes of the second quarter, freshman Mariah Craigue (Tuftonboro, N.H.) scored her first goal of her career to push the advantage to 3-0. Craigue received a pass from junior Kate McPherson (Conway, N.H.) deep in the circle and beat the FSU keeper.
  • Plymouth State scored a fourth goal off of a shot by junior Haley Wakefield (Norway, Maine) after corralling a loose ball that was knocked around the inside of the circle. She immediately took the shot and it went into the back of the net.
