Hodgson Named MASCAC Pitcher of the Year; Three on All-Conference Team

Framingham, Mass. – Framingham State senior pitcher Kyle Hodgson (Berkley, Mass.) has been named the 2019 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Baseball Pitcher of the Year and classmates Joe Ambrosino (Bradenton, FL) and Kyle Lippert (Carlsbad, CA) were named to the all-conference second team as voted by the league's coaches and announced by the conference office this morning. 

Hodgson led the MASCAC in wins going 8-2, including 5-0 in conference play, with a 2.65 ERA leading the league in innings pitched (91.2), complete games (6) and shutouts (2).  He had the second-most strikeouts with 80 and the fifth-best ERA. In the regular season, Hodgson tossed a complete game shutout in a 1-0 win over Salem State, allowing seven hits, no earned runs and tallying six strikeouts in the victory.

Lippert hit .305 on the year with an on base percentage of .447 scoring 26 runs with seven doubles, a triple, a homer and drove in 18.

Ambrosino led the Rams with 47 hits clubbing a .309 average with four homers, 12 doubles and a team best 34 RBI.

The Rams finished the season 22-19 after posting a 12-9 conference record which earned them the third seed in the MASCAC Tournament.
