Cross Country Runs at Western New England Invitational

Springfield, Mass.- The Framingham State men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Western New England University Invitational on Saturday morning in Springfield. The women's team finished 7th out of 15 teams while the men came in 11th place.

The women's were once again paced by sophomore Taylor Roberts (North Brookfield, Mass.) who completed the 5k with a time of 19:49 for a 6th overall finish. 6 different Rams came in during the 22nd minute. Iracely Sanchez (Framingham, Mass.) came in at 22:30, Courtney Torres (Westminster, Mass.) crossed at 22:36 and Mikaela Ranahan (North Andover, Mass.) came home at 22:40. Morgan Perry (Pepperell, Mass.) and Jenna Anan (Littleton, NH) both came in at 22:43 while Kayleigh Laughlin (Gardner, Mass.) crossed the line at 22:53.

The men were led by Dan Stevens (Holliston, Mass.) with a 29:58 8k time. The next Ram in was Richie Wertz (South Easton, Mass. ) at 30:11 followed by Greg Asci (Rockland, Mass.) with a 32:06 and Jay Ebersole (Natick, Mass.) with a 33:44 time. Steven Furtney (Pembroke, Mass.) and Thomas Rainsford (Holliston, Mass.) rounded out the action with times of 34:37 & 39:22 respectively.  

The Rams are back in action at the MASCAC Championship hosted by Westfield State on October 31st
