Cross Country Opens Season at Jim Sheehan Memorial

FITCHBURG, Mass.- The Framingham State cross country team participated in the 2015 Jim Sheehan Memorial Invite hosted by Fitchburg State on Saturday afternoon. The women's team finished 4^th out of 7 teams and the men's team finished in sixth place. 

The Rams top finisher on the women's side was sophomore Taylor Roberts (North Brookfield, Mass.) with a 5k time of 21:16.8 for a 6^th place individual finish. Senor Morgan Zabinski (Rehoboth, Mass.) was the second Ram to cross the line at 23:36.6 (21^st place), followed by junior Courtney Torres (Westminster, Mass.) as 23:48.0 (24^th place).

On the men's side junior Dan Stevens (Holliston, Mass.) was the first Ram in with a 5 mile time of 32:11.7 (26^th) followed by junior Richie Wertz (South Easton, Mass.) at the 33:57.7 (37^th) mark.

The Rams will attend the Smith College Invitation next Saturday, September 12^th hosted by Smith College.
