Cross Country's Robert Wheeler Aids Victim of Monday's Marathon Bombing

Framingham, Mass. – Framingham State University senior Robert Wheeler (Ashland, Mass.) was among several members of the Framingham State University campus community to run in Monday's Boston Marathon and was among the many heroes who rushed into action to assist victims of the bombing.

Wheeler, who ran cross country for the Rams in 2012, had just crossed the finish line when the first explosion went off on Boylston Street and Wheeler immediately jumped into action rushing back towards the blast.  According to Wheeler he did not have time to think but just ran back to help.

Wheeler came upon a woman who was screaming for help for her injured father.  Wheeler sprang into action taking the shirt off his back and applied it to a wound on the man's leg and put his leg on his shoulder to elevate the wound and try to slow the bleeding.

Wheeler then asked the man questions about himself to keep him calm until he was moved to the medical tent.  Wheeler would like to find the man and find out how he is doing, but all he knows about the man is that his name is Ron.
