Women’s Cross Country Finishes Third at 2023 MASCAC Championship Meet

Devens, Mass. - The Framingham State University women's cross country team led by a top ten finish from Kate Buban placed third at the 2023 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Cross Country Championship Meet this afternoon at Willard Park and hosted by Worcester State.  

THE BASICS:

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • The Rams secured third place with 72 total points finishing just behind Bridgewater State that placed second. Westfield State University took the top spot in the meet. Fitchburg State finished in fourth just behind the Rams with 131 points, while Mass. Maritime, Worcester State and MCLA finished in fifth, sixth and seventh. 

  • Buban was the Rams top finisher as she completed the 5K course in eighth place with a time of 20:46.39 which was just over three seconds behind the seventh place finisher. 

  • Camille Carvalho and Meghan Johnston were the next two Rams to cross the finish line. Carvalho finished 13th with a time of 21:36, while Johnston followed right behind in 14th with a time of 21:40. 

  • Kelsey Gendreau was the fourth Ram to finish the race as she crossed in 19th with a time of 22:37. 

  • Hannah Nilson was the next Ram to finish the meet as she crossed at 23:51. Rounding out the top seven for Framingham State were Camille Graffeo (24:25) and Leah Chase (24:31).
