Women's Cross Country Finishes Fifth at WNE Invitational

Springfield, Mass. - The Framingham State University women's cross country team led by a 14thplace finish from Kate Buban finished fifth at the Western New England Invitational on Saturday morning.  

THE BASICS:

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • The Rams finished fifth with 134 points and were just narrowly edged by Westfield State who claimed the fourth spot with 129 points. 

  • Buban was the Rams top finisher as she completed the 5K course with a time of 25:33 which was just three seconds behind the runner ahead of her in the standings. 

  • Meghan Johnston was the next Ram to cross the line as she came in 22nd with a time of 26:08. 

  • The next Ram to finish the course was Kelsey Gendreau who finished at 27:13. Leah Chace and Camille Graffeo were the next two Rams finishing just nine seconds apart with Chace crossing at 28:14 and Graffeo at 28:23. 

  • Rounding out the top seven for the Rams were Amanda Bedard (28:49) and Lydia Marunowski (31:03).

The Rams are off next week before they return to action on Friday, October 27th at the MASCAC Championships hosted by Worcester State at Devens.
