Women's Cross Country Opens 2019 with Sixth Place Finish at Early Bird Invitational

Keene, N.H.  – The Framingham State women's cross country team opened the 2019 season this morning at the Early Bird Invitational hosted by Keene State College and placed sixth led by a 23rd place finish for sophomore Eliza Weisse (Hampden, Mass.).

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

  • Weisse opened her sophomore season with a 23rd place finish completing the two mile course in a time of 12:43, while freshman Alison Pais (Peabody, Mass.) followed in 37th with a time of 13:02 in her first collegiate racing action.
  • Freshman Emily Newcomb (Raynham, Mass.) followed for the Rams crossing the line at 13:28, while senior Beatrice Donoghue (Rowley, Mass.) began her final season for the Rams finishing at 13:44.
  • Sophomore Kammarie Pelland (Fitchburg, Mass.) and senior Dana Arburr (Glastonbury, Conn.) followed next for the Rams in a dead heat as each crossed at 14:10.  Sophomore Katie Hayes (Dedham, Mass.) rounded out the top seven for the Rams finishing at 14:37.
