Women’s Cross Country Lands Fourth in MASCAC Preseason Poll

Framingham, Mass.- The Framingham State women's cross country team has been voted fourth in the 2018 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference preseason poll as selected by the seven coaches from around the conference.

The Rams were fourth with 106 points at last year's conference meet. Beatrice Donoghue (Rowley, Mass.) was the first finishers in for the team and 38th overall completing the course in just over 22 minutes.

After claiming their first ever MASCAC Championship last season, Worcester State has been picked to win the 2018 title. The Lancers claimed four of the first place votes for 34 points. Earning the final three first place votes is Westfield State in second with 32 points followed by Bridgewater State in third with 27 points. Sitting in fifth place is Fitchburg State with 18 points and closing out the 2018 preseason poll are MCLA and Massachusetts Maritime in sixth and seventh with 10 and seven points, respectively.

The Rams open their 2018 campaign at the Jim Sheehan Invitation in Fitchburg, Mass. on Saturday, September 1st.
