Men’s & Women’s Cross Country Open the Season at Jim Sheehan Memorial Meet

Leominster, Mass. – The Framingham State University men's and women's cross country team opened the new season this morning competing at the 2017 Jim Sheehan Alumni Cross Country Meet hosted by Fitchburg State University at Doyle Conservation.

The women's team placed fifth in their first race of the season on the 5K course. The Rams were paced by Taylor Roberts who placed 10th completing the course in 21:38.  Senior Mikaela Ranaham was not far behind crossing the line 16th in 22:02. 

Following close behind for the Rams at 23:26 and 23:59 were Beatrice Donoghue and Eri Takahashi.  Sophomore Dana Arburr followed at 24:15, while Amena El-Sayed crossed in a time of 24:43.

The men's team did not factor in the team scoring for the meet, but were led by freshman Logan Cochran who completed the 8K course in a time of 32:54.  Victor Chiang in his first collegiate meet finished in a time of 32:58.

Both squads are back in action next Saturday at the Smith College Invitational with the women's race starting at 10 a.m. and the men's following at 11 a.m.
