Volleyball Eliminated from NCAA Tournament by #21 Ithaca
Ithaca, NY – The nationally 21st ranked Ithaca College volleyball team defeated Framingham State in the opening round of the 2023 NCAA Div. III Tournament by a score of 3-0.
This was Framingham State's sixth appearance in the NCAA Tournament and second in three seasons. Ithaca advances to play third-seeded Babson College tomorrow at 7:00pm.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Bombers controlled the play for most of the first two sets hitting .414 and .520 in the first two set respectively but the Rams rallied in the third.

Trailing 8-6 the Rams Rallied to an 18-11 third set lead led by a couple big blocks and kills by Hailey Sanders to force Ithaca to call a timeout.

Out of the timeout Ithaca rallied to tied the game at 20 and ultimately take the set 25-21 to clinch the win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

Ithaca was led by by Jamie Koopman with 12 kills, two blocks and two aces while Gabriela Gonzalez- Abreu picked up ten kills and Maddie Cox sent up 28 assists.

The Rams were paced by captains Anna Szymanski and Hailey Sanders. Szymanski had five kills and ace and three digs. Sanders picked up five kills and three blocks on the night for the Rams.
