NCAA Division III Volleyball Tournament – Volleyball to Face Ithaca

Framingham, Mass. – The 2023 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Volleyball Tournament Champion Framingham State University Rams will make an appearance in the 2023 NCAA Division III Volleyball Championship Tournament this week in Ithaca, NY. 

The Rams will face the host Bombers of the Liberty League in an opening round match on Thursday, November 16th at 7 p.m. The winner will advance to face the winner of the Babson/Stevenson match on Friday afternoon in the Regional Semifinals. 

The Rams are making their sixth overall and first since 2021 appearance in the NCAA Tournament under the direction of 20th year head coach Richard Casali.  The 2023 Rams went 21-10 this season and 4-3 in the league which earned them the fourth seed in the conference tournament where the Rams knocked off the top seed in the semifinals and third seed MCLA in the final to earn the Tournament Title and the MASCAC's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. 

The Rams are led this season by Anna Szymanski who earned MASCAC Tournament MVP honors. Szymanski has recorded 308 kills and 295 kills on the season.  

Ithaca, the Liberty League Regular Season Champions, captured their second straight Liberty League Title defeating William Smith over the weekend to earn the automatic qualifier to the NCAA Tournament. The Bombers enter the NCAA Tournament with a 25-4 record overall. 

Ithaca will host the eight team regional from Thursday-Saturday with the other teams including – NYU, Eastern Nazarene, Eastern and Tufts.
