Volleyball Captures 2023 MASCAC Tournament Title with 3-2 Victory over MCLA

North Adams, Mass. - Led by Tournament MVP Anna Szymanski, he fourth seed Framingham State University volleyball team defeated third seed MCLA 3-2 this evening to capture the 2023 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Volleyball Tournament Championship at Amsler Gymnasium.

- Scores:  Framingham State 3, MCLA 2 (25-22, 25-19, 20-25, 17-25, 15-9) 

- Records:  #4 Framingham State (20-10), #3 MCLA (21-4) 

- Location:  Amsler Gymnasium – North Adams, Mass.         

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

• The Rams jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the match taking the first two sets by scores of 25-22 and 25-19. 

• The Trailblazers would not go away as they took the third and fourth sets by scores of 25-20 and 25-17. 

• After trading points to start the fifth and deciding set, the Rams opened up a lead and held on taking the frame 15-9 and securing their first Tournament Title since 2021. 

• Szymanski paced the Rams in the match en route to earning Tournament MVP honors. Szymanski tallied 14 kills and added 15 digs in the match. 

• Hailey Sanders finished the night with 15 kills and two blocks for the Rams, while Natalie Reynolds and Emma Dobbins added 10 kills apiece. 

• Stella Bailey finished the match with 45 set assists and 17 defensive digs, while Carly Beaulieu chipped in with 15 digs.  

• Mackenzie Heaney finished the match with 11 digs, while Anneli DiVirgilio added six.
