Volleyball Advances in MASCAC Tournament with 3-0 Victory over Bridgewater State

Framingham, Mass. - The fourth seed Framingham State University volleyball team defeated fifth seed Bridgewater State 3-0 this evening in one quarterfinal of the 2023 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Volleyball Tournament at Logan Gymnasium.   

THE BASICS: 

-Scores:  Framingham State 3, Bridgewater State 0 (25-18, 25-18, 25-19) 

-Records: #4 Framingham State (19-10), #5 Bridgewater State (4-13) 

- Location: Logan Gymnasium Framingham, Mass.         

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • The Rams secured the victory by scores of 25-18, 25-18 and 25-19 to advance in the conference tournament. 

  • The Rams were paced by 14 kills from Hailey Sanders. Sanders connected on 14 of 22 swings for a .455 attack percentage. 

  • Anna Szymanski chipped in with 11 kills and added five digs, while Natalie Reynolds chipped in with six kills, four digs and three blocks. 

  • Carly Beaulieu led the back row with 17 defensive digs, two aces and two assists, while Stella Bailey finished the match with 35 set assists and three digs with two aces. 

  • The Bears were led on the attack by eight kills from Abigail Reardon. Reardon connected on eight of her 21 attempts for a .333 attack percentage. 

  • Meaghan Coutu chipped in with six kills and seven digs, while Sarah Brogioli and Lily Welch finished the match with four kills apiece. 

  • The Bears defense was led by eight digs from Xin Ai Robinson, while Lily Misay finished the match with six.

The fourth seeded Rams are back in action on Thursday night in the MASCAC Volleyball Tournament Semifinals where they will face top seed Westfield State in Westfield at 7 p.m.
