Volleyball Splits a Pair of Matches with Norwich and Regis

Weston, Mass. - The Framingham State University volleyball team defeated Norwich 3-0 this afternoon before falling 3-2 to host Regis College in a non-conference tri-match.   

THE BASICS: 

-Scores:  Framingham State 3, Norwich (25-8, 25-18, 25-6) 
Regis 3, Framingham State 2 (21-25, 18-25, 25-17, 25-19, 15-7) 

-Records: Framingham State (16-10), Norwich (5-15), Regis (21-7)  

- Location: Regis Athletic Complex Weston, Mass.         

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

Framingham 3, Norwich 0 

  • The Rams cruised to victory in their first match of the day by scores of 25-8, 25-18 and 25-6. 

  • Anna Szymanski paced the Rams on the attack with 11 kills on 33 attempts to go along with 14 defensive digs. 

  • Hailey Sanders also chipped in with 11 kills on 15 swings for a .600 attack percentage. Sanders added five blocks in the match including two solo. 

  • Stella Bailey added 33 set assists and eight nigs in the match, while Carly Beaulieu finished the match with 11 digs and two aces. 

  • Natalie Reynolds added nine kills and six digs with three aces for the Rams. 

Regis 3, Framingham 2 

  • In the final match of the day, the Rams grabbed a 2-0 lead taking the first two sets 25-21 and 25-18. The Pride responded winning three straight – 25-17, 25-19, 15-7 – to secure the victory in the match. 

  • Szymanski once again paced the Rams with a double double of 18 kills and 16 digs, while Sanders finished the match with 13 kills and five blocks. 

  • Reynolds finished the match with seven kills and five digs, while Bailey added 44 set assists, three aces and 15 digs. 

  • Beaulieu finished the second match with 16 defensive digs, while Mackenzie Heaney added 13.
