Volleyball Drops a Pair of Matches to Keene State and Eastern Conn.

Keene, N.H. - The Framingham State University volleyball team was defeated 3-1 this afternoon by Eastern Connecticut and then suffered a 3-0 loss to host Keene State in non-conference action at Spaulding Gymnasium.   

THE BASICS: 

-Scores:  Eastern Conn. 3, Framingham State 1 (25-18, 26-24, 12-25, 25-20) 
Keene State 3, Framingham State 0 (25-12, 27-25, 27-25) 

-Records: Framingham State (11-5), Keene State (7-9), Eastern Connecticut (9-5) 

- Location: Spaulding Gymnasium Keene, N.H.         

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • In their opening match against the Warriors, the Rams were defeated by scores of 25-18, 26-24, 12-25 and 25-20. 

  • Hailey Sanders led the way with 15 kills on 30 attempts with just two errors for a .433 attack percentage. Sanders also added a dig, an assist and six blocks. 

  • Anna Szymanski added 10 kills on her 36 swings to go along with 12 digs and two blocks, while Natalie Reynolds chipped in with nine kills and three aces. 

  • Stella Bailey chipped in with 30 set assists and five digs, while Anneli DiVirgilio added 18 digs and two aces. Carly Beaulieu chipped in with 12 digs and an assist. 

  • Against host Keene State the Rams closed the day falling in straight sets by scores of 25-12, 27-25, 27-25. 

  • Sanders once again paced the Rams on the attack with 10 kills on 22 attempts, while Szymanski added eight kills and 13 digs. 

  • Reynolds finished the second match with nine kills and five aces, while DiVirgilio chipped in with 15 digs. Jamison Moniz finished the match with 16 digs, while Bailey finished with 28 assists.

The Rams are back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Mitchell beginning at 7 p.m.
