Volleyball Holds on for Five Set Victory over Rhode Island College

Providence, RI - The Framingham State University volleyball team held off Rhode Island College in the fifth set as the Rams secured a 3-2 victory in non-conference action at the Murray Center.   

THE BASICS: 

-Scores:  Framingham State 3, RIC 2 (25-21, 22-25, 25-21, 8-25, 15-8) 

-Records: Framingham State (8-2), RIC (2-4) 

- Location: The Murray Center – Providence, RI       

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • The Rams led 2-1 after taking the first and third sets by scores of 25-21. RIC took the fourth set in convincing fashion 25-8, but the Rams jumped out the lead in fifth and held on taking the frame 15-8 to secure the victory in the match. 

  • The Rams were led on the attack by 14 kills on 34 attempts by Hailey Sanders, who also added four blocks in the match. 

  • Natalie Reynolds chipped in with 11 kills, three blocks and two aces, while Anna Szymanski added nine kills and nine digs. 

  • The defensive effort was led by a team high 18 digs and three aces from Anneli DiVirgilio, while Stella Bailey finished the match with 15 digs and 35 set assists. 

  • Carley Beaulieu added 13 digs, while Jamiee Lowe finished the match with 10.
