Volleyball Falls to Worcester State 3-1 in Non-Conference Action

Framingham, Mass. - The Framingham State University volleyball team was defeated 3-1 by Worcester State University this evening in non-conference action at Logan Gymnasium.   

THE BASICS: 

-Scores:  Worcester State 3, Framingham State 1 (26-24, 25-17, 23-25, 25-17) 

-Records: Framingham State (1-2), Worcester State (2-2) 

- Location: Logan Gymnasium Framingham, Mass.       

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • The Lancers held off a late charge by the Rams in the opening set to take the frame 26-24 and then went on to take the second frame 25-17. 

  • The Rams rallied in the third set taking the frame 25-23 before the Lancers rebounded in the fourth 25-17 to secure the victory. 

  • The Lancers were led by nine kills, 18 digs and five service aces from Camryn Burgio, while Beatrice Gamboa-Estrella chipped in with eight kills, four digs and three aces. 

  • The Rams were led by a match-best 16 kills from Hailey Sanders. Sanders connected on 16 of 32 attempts with five errors for a .344 hitting percentage. 

  • Natalie Reynolds chipped in with eight kills, four digs and two aces, while Jamiee Lowe added seven kills and seven digs.  

  • Stella Bailey chipped in 32 set assists and eight digs, while Anneli DiVirgilio contributed nine digs and two aces.
