Northampton, Mass. - The Framingham State University volleyball team was defeated this afternoon 3-0 by Smith College and 3-1 by Southern Maine in non-conference action at Ainsworth Gymnasium.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
Match 1 – Smith 3, Framingham St. 0
- The Rams were defeated in straight sets by scores of 25-16, 25-23 and 25-15.
- Brandee Thomas paced the Rams on the attack with seven kills, two assists and four digs, while Valerie Sullivan chipped in with six kills and seven digs.
- Hayley Gaskin tallied 14 set assists with three digs, while Hailey Sanders added four kills and a block.
- Smith was led by nine kills from Abby Sweeney, while Fiona Hegarty added eight kills and two digs.
- Defensively, Sarah Dankovich and Gabby Beckman paced Smith with 13 and 10 digs respectively.
Match 2 – Southern Maine 3, Framingham St. 1
- The Huskies took the first two sets by scores of 25-17 and 25-15 before the Rams rallied taking the third 25-20. The Huskies closed the match with a 25-22 triumph in the fourth.
- The Rams were paced in the match by 12 kills apiece from Thomas and Sullivan. Thomas also added 15 defensive digs and an ace, while Sullivan added eight digs.
- Gaskin finished the match with 23 set assists and eight digs, while Isabel Henwood tallied a team-high 25 defensive digs.
- Sanders had a solid second match with eight kills and two digs.
- The Huskies were led by 15 kills and 15 digs from Alizia Lagando, while Brianna Delloicaono chipped in with 13 kills and 15 digs.
- Lydia Budro added 10 kills and seven digs with two aces.
- Sierra Castonguay paced the defensive effort with 17 digs, while Sophia Lindsay added nine kills, 34 assists and 10 digs.
