Volleyball Defeats Dean College 3-0

Framingham, Mass. - The Framingham State University volleyball team received a match-high 11 kills from freshman Brandee Thomas (North Kingstown, RI) as the Rams defeated Dean College 3-0 this evening in non-conference action at the Athletic Center.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

  • Thomas recorded her match-best 11 kills on 20 attempts with just one error for a .500 attack percentage. 
  • Sophomore Brandey Rodriguez (Lawrence, Mass.) added four kills on 11 attempts with seven service aces and three digs, while classmate Grace Caughey (Mendon, Mass.) chipped in with five kills, three aces and eight defensive digs.
  • Senior Mackenzie Whalen (Norton, Mass.) tallied a game-high 22 assists with five digs, while junior Deidre Fay (Cornwall, NY) added five kills, six digs, three aces and two assists.  Freshman Alyssa Cafarelli (Peoria, AZ) added seven digs, two kills, two aces and two assists.
  • The Bulldogs were led by three kills apiece from Melanie Rios-Nevarez (Vega Alta, Puerto Rico) and Tara Griffith (Los Angeles, CA).  Rios-Nevarez also added six digs.
  • Junior Kait Anderson (Clinton, Conn.) added two kills, two service aces and six digs, while senior Samantha Trullo (Chelmsford, Mass.) added five digs and two kills.

 

UP NEXT:

The Rams are back in action on Wednesday night when they host Salem State in a MASCAC match-up beginning at 6 p.m., while the Bulldogs host Nichols on Thursday at 7p.m.
