Volleyball Falls in Straight Sets at Mount Holyoke

South Hadley, Mass. – The Framingham State University volleyball team was defeated 3-0 this evening by Mount Holyoke College in non-conference action at Mildred Howard Gym.

With the loss, the Rams are now 6-12 on the season, while Mount Holyoke improves to 7-6 after the victory.

Mount Holyoke defeated the Rams in straight sets by scores of 25-23, 25-12 and 25-19.

The Rams were paced on the attack by seven kills and five digs from freshman Kelly Brinkman (Gardiner, NY), while senior Casie Thurber (Springfield, Mass.) added five kills.  Junior Mackenzie Whalen (Norton, Mass.) added 13 set assists and nine digs, while senior Vicki Anderson (Attleboro, Mass.) recorded five digs.  Sophomores Brenna Marquis (Coventry, Conn.) and Alexandra Fish (Lincoln, RI) added eight and seven digs respectively.

The Rams are back in action on Saturday with a non-conference tri-match at Suffolk with Mount Ida beginning at noon.
