Volleyball Falls 3-0 To Smith and Babson

Northampton, Mass. – The Framingham State University women's volleyball dropped a pair of non-conference matches this afternoon falling to Smith and Babson by scores of 3-0 at Ainsworth Gym.

With the losses, the Rams are now 4-9 on the season, while Babson improves to 11-2 and Smith is now 7-6.

Babson defeated the Rams by scores of 25-20, 25-10, and 25-11.  The Rams were led defensively by senior Vicki Anderson (Attleboro, Mass.) who tallied 13 defensive digs and two kills, while sophomore Deirdre Fay (Cornwall, NY) added two kills and 10 digs.  Freshman Grace Caughey (Mendon, Mass.) chipped in with three kills and three digs.

Smith defeated the Rams by scores of 25-17, 25-20 and 25-18.  The Rams were led on the attack by seven kills and two digs from Caughey, while Fay added five kills and nine digs.  Anderson recorded 17 defensive digs, while junior Mackenzie Whalen (Norton, Mass.) added 11 digs and 19 assists.

The Rams are back in action on Monday when they host Lasell in non-conference action at 6 p.m.
