Volleyball Cruises to 3-0 MASCAC Victory over Mass. Maritime

Framingham, Mass. – The Framingham State University Rams cruised to a 3-0 victory over Massachusetts Maritime Academy this evening in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action at the Athletic Center. The Rams triumphed by scores of 25-10, 25-5 and 25-8.

With the win, improve to 10-5 on the year and are now 3-0 in conference play. The Buccaneers slide to 1-15 overall and are now 0-2 in the MASCAC.

Senior Julia Wan (South Deerfield, Mass.) paced the Rams with nine kills, eight digs and six service aces, while sophomore Casie Thurber (Springfield, Mass.) added eight kills.  Freshman Alexandra Fish (Lincoln, RI) led the way in the back row for the Rams with 10 digs, while sophomore Mackenzie Whalen (Norton, Mass.) added 14 assists.

The Buccaneers were led by four kills and 11 digs from senior Charleen Klangos (Lowell, Mass.).  Freshman Christina Ruggeri (Bourne, Mass.) added a match-best 13 digs.

The Rams take to the road for a non-conference tri-match on Saturday at MIT with Wheaton beginning at 1 p.m., while the Buccaneers host Pine Manor for a pair of non-conference matches on Saturday beginning at 2 p.m.
