Volleyball Falls to Plymouth State 3-1

Plymouth, N.H. – The Framingham State University volleyball team took to the road this evening and were defeated 3-1 by Plymouth State University in non-conference action at Foley Gym.  With the loss the Rams are now 0-4 on the young season, while the Panthers improve to 1-3.

The Panther took the first two sets 25-12 and 25-23, before the Rams rallied for the 25-17 victory in the third. Plymouth closed the match in the fourth 25-23.

The Rams were led on the attack by senior Alycia Rackliffe (Feeding Hills, Mass.) who recorded 23 kills to go along with 10 digs and a pair of blocks.  Classmate Julia Wan (South Deerfield, Mass.) chipped in with eight kills and a team-high 18 digs, while junior Vicki Anderson (Attleboro, Mass.) recorded 16 digs. 

Junior Sarah Leonard (Southborough, Mass.) was solid in the back row with 13 digs and a pair of aces, while Molly Meehan (Quincy, Mass.) added 37 set assists and 11 digs.

The Rams are back in action at home on Saturday when they host Southern Maine and Newbury in a non-conference tri-match beginning at 11 a.m.
