Volleyball Falls to Springfield and RIT - Rackliffe Named to All-Tournament Team

Springfield, Mass. – The Framingham State University volleyball team suffered a  pair of setback today at day two of the Springfield Invitational. The Rams fell to the host Pride 3-0 in their first match of the day, before closing the tournament with a 3-2 setback against RIT.

Senior Alycia Rackliffe (Feeding Hills, Mass.) earned all-tournament honors for the Rams after averaging 16 kills in the three matches.  Rackliffe recorded 11 kills and three digs in the loss to Springfield and closed the tournament with seven kills and four blocks against RIT.

Junior Vicki Anderson (Attleboro, Mass.) was solid in the back row in the opener with seven digs, while senior Julia Wan (South Deerfield, Mass.) added five kills and four digs.

Junior Sarah Leonard (Southborough, Mass.) paced the back row effort against RIT with a team-best 12 defensive digs, while Anderson once again recorded seven.  Junior Molly Meehan (Quincy, Mass.) chipped in with 20 set assists and Wan added eight kills.

The Rams are back in action on Tuesday with a  non-conference match at Plymouth State.
