Volleyball Splits Two with RIC and Keene State

Keene, N.H. – The Framingham State University volleyball team split a pair of matches this afternoon against Rhode Island College and Keene State in a non-conference tri-match for the Rams played at Keenes Spaulding Gym.

The Rams (9-2) defeated Rhode Island College 3-0 in their first match of the day, before falling to the host Owls 3-1 to close the afternoon.

Against Rhode Island College, the Rams were led by 16 kills from junior Alycia Rackliffe (Feeding Hills, Mass.).  Classmate Julia Wan (South Deerfield, Mass.) chipped in with seven kills, two aces, six digs and three blocks, while freshman Tessa Neverett (Athol, Mass.) had a solid game with seven digs and three aces.

Against the Owls, the Rams were once again led by Rackliffe who picked up a match-best 18 kills on 41 attempts.  Neverett had a solid second match with seven kills, seven digs and an ace, while senior Danielle Girard (Tivoli, NY) led the back row effort with a match-high 16 digs.

The Rams return to action on September 22nd when they travel to Salve Regina University for a non-conference match beginning at 7 p.m.
