Wan Named MVP as Volleyball Wins UMass Dartmouth Invitational

North Dartmouth, Mass. – The Framingham State University volleyball team closed the 2014 University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Volleyball Invitational with a pair of victories today over Regis College and the host Corsairs en route to the Tournament Championship.  The Rams defeated the Pride 3-0 and the Corsairs 3-2.

Sophomore Julia Wan (South Deerfield, Mass.) earned Tournament Most Valuable Player honors, while classmate Alycia Rackliffe (Feeding Hills, Mass.) was named to the All-Tournament Team after a strong weekend.

Wan led the Rams with seven kills and 10 digs in the win over Regis.  Senior Courtney Wilbur (Braintree, Mass.) picked up a match-high 14 digs, while seniors Maribeth Martin (Barnstable, Mass.) and Morgan Drew (South Easton, Mass.) chipped in with 13 set assists apiece.

In their final match of the tournament, Wan and Rackliffe once again led the attack for the Rams (5-1).  Rackliffe contributed 17 kills and seen digs, while Wan added 14 and 19.  Martin and Drew added 17 assists apiece, while Wilbur dug a match-best 32 balls.
