Volleyball Remains Undefeated in MASCAC with 3-0 Win over Worcester and Falls 3-1 to Babson

Worcester, Mass. – The Framingham State University women's volleyball team remained unbeaten the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) with a 3-0 victory on the road this morning over Worcester State before falling 3-1 to regionally ranked Babson College in their second match of the day. 

With the win, the Rams are now 5-0 in the MASCAC and are in sole possession of first place as they improve to 19-6 on the year, while the Lancers fall to 10-8 overall and 2-2 in conference.  Babson, who defeated Worcester State in the day's final match, is now 18-5 on the year.

Framingham State defeated Worcester State by scores of 25-22, 25-10 and 25-15 and were led by sophomore Ashley Nee (Hanson, Mass.) who picked up a match-high 10 kills and four solo blocks.  Sophomore Michelle DeJesus (Framingham, Mass.) led the defensive effort with 16 digs, while classmate Kassandra Jermyn (Auburn, Mass.) handed out 27 assists.

Babson edged the Rams by scores of 25-21, 16-25, 25-21, and 25-20.  The Rams were led by junior Andressa Fernandes (Framingham, Mass.) who had a match-high 13 kills and 16 digs, while freshman Danielle Girard (Tivoli, NY) added 10 kills and 16 digs.  DeJesus once again led the back row with 20 digs, while Jermyn added 37 assists.

The Rams return to action on Wednesday evening with a non-conference match at Rivier beginning at 7 p.m.
