Volleyball Picks Up 3-0 Win at Mass. Maritime
Buzzards Bay, Mass. - Junior Ashley Trudeau (Rockland, Mass.) notched 10 kills to lead Framingham State to a 3-0 Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference volleyball victory over Massachusetts Maritime by game scores of 25-19, 25-12 and 25-6 in a league outing played Wednesday evening at the Clean Harbors Athletic Center.
Freshman Jackie Friel (Centerville, Mass.) added six kills in the triumph for the visiting Rams (8-10, 1-1 MASCAC), who also received 19 set assists from freshman Meaghan Callahan (Bridgewater, Mass.)
Freshman Suzanne Marino (Kings Park, N.Y.) registered four kills and three digs in the setback for the host Buccaneers (0-14, 0-5 MASCAC), who also received two kills each from sophomore Samantha Foley (Forestdale, Mass.) and freshman Alex Burgess-Chrost (Leominster, Mass.) as well as five digs from junior Victoria Presutti (Marshfield, Mass.).
Massachusetts Maritime travels to Boston on Saturday afternoon to take on Babson, Wheaton and host UMass Boston at the Beacons Invitational beginning at noon, while Framingham State hosts Anna Maria and Maine-Fort Kent in a non-league tri-match on Saturday afternoon in Framingham, Mass. that also begins at noon.
