Eastern Conn Defeats Women’s Soccer

Mansfield, Conn. – The Eastern Connecticut State women's soccer team defeated Framingham State by a score of 9-0 Wednesday at the Mansfield Complex.  

THE BASICS: 

  • Score: Eastern Connecticut State 9, Framingham State 0 

  • Records: Eastern Conn. St. (5-8-2, 2-2-2), Framingham State (2-13-1, 1-3-1) 

  • Location: Mansfield Complex, Mansfield, Conn. 

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • Eastern Connecticut State opened the scoring early, with Sara Honold finding the net in the third minute, assisted by Lilly Simpson.  

  • Katelyn Herbert doubled the lead at 17:21 with another assist from Simpson, and an unassisted goal at 31:18 pushed the score to 3-0 before halftime. 

 
  • The second half saw a flurry of goals from the Warriors. Olivia Mullings netted twice, while Daria DiBiasio, Sarah Orzolek, Dani Rovalino, and Katie Guerin each added goals to complete the scoring.  

  • Eastern's precision was evident as they converted nine of their 16 shots on target into goals. 

 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • Shots: Eastern Conn. dominated with 33 shots compared to Framingham State's 2. 

  • Saves: Madison Magone and Kailyn Bearce combined for eight saves but could not stop Eastern's relentless attack. but Eastern's keepers did not face any shots. 

  • Corner Kicks: Eastern Conn. earned eight corners, while Framingham State had none.
