Women’s Soccer Shutout by Clark; 3-0

Framingham, Mass. – The Clark University women's soccer team scored three first-half goals en route to a 3-0 non-conference win over Framingham State Wednesday afternoon in Framingham.  

THE BASICS: 

- Score:  Clark University 3, Framingham State 0 

- Records: Framingham State (1-6), Clark University (6-1-1) 

- Location: Maple State Field Framingham, Mass. 

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • The Cougars got on the board in the 25th minute when Mia Tewes sent in a long cross that was settled by Siobhan Lounsbury and it snuck past the Rams keeper. 

  • Clark extended their lead in the 37th minute when Lounsbury threaded a pass to Gabrielle Herivaux to create a breakaway which she finished off for the 2-0 advantage.  

  • In the final minute of the first half, the Cougars padded their advantage when Emma Tziachris sent one in from 22 yards out to send the teams to the break with Clark holding a 3-0 advantage.  

  • The two teams played to a scoreless 2nd half to reach the final margin.  

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • Gabrielle Huryn earned the shutout win, her first of the year, making six saves.  

  • Jetta Oskirko made seven stops in the setback for the Rams.  

  • The visitors outshot the Rams 21-to-8 in the contest.
