Women’s Soccer Drops Non-League Game at Nichols; 2-1

Framingham, Mass. The Framingham State women's soccer team was defeated in non-conference action by a score of 2-1 at Nichols College Saturday afternoon in Dudley.  

THE BASICS: 

- Score:  Nichols 2, Framingham State 1 

- Records:Framingham State (0-3), Nichols (2-1) 

- Location: Vendetti Field Dudley, Mass. 

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • The Bison controlled the match in the first half but were unable to capitalize on their chances by the Rams net. Despite outshooting the Rams 15-0 in the first half, the two teams entered the break tried at 0. 

  • The Bison were able to convert very early in the second half, as Alana Snow was able to redirect a pass from captain Grace Killman, just under four minutes into the second half.  

  • The Rams answered to knot the game up at one soon after when Madison Orff netted a beautiful strike passed Bison netminder Saige Frazier. 

  • The hosts continued to control possession in the match and were able to regain the lead as Emily Feisthamel netted the eventual game winner on an arching shot that snuck under the cross bar and past the Rams netminder Jetta Oskirko. 

  • Frazier and Adie Hughes split the game between the pipes for the Bison while Oskirko made 11 saves in the setback for the Rams.

The Rams return to the field on Friday, September 15th when they travel to MCLA for a MASCAC tilt at 6pm.
