Women’s Soccer’s Late Charge Lead Them Past MCLA; 2-1

North Adams, Mass.– The visiting Framingham State women's soccer team scored twice in the games' final 13 minutes to overcome a deficit and prevail over MCLA 2-1 in MASCAC action at Shewcraft Field.   

THE BASICS:

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • A scoreless first half saw the Rams hold a 16-4 edge in shots, however Trailblazer keeper Jillian Currier kept the game at 0-0. 

  • Early in the second half, MCLA capitalized on a loose ball.  Claudia Bresett got her foot on it and knocked it past Ram goalkeeper Jetta Oskirko to give the hosts a 1-0 lead.  It was Bresett's second goal of the season.  The game would remain in MCLA's favor until the Rams finally solved Currier in the 77th minute. 

  • Megan Ethier found Calen Frongillo who slid it past Currier to tie things up at 1-1.  It was Frongillo's third goal of the season.  The marker seemed to startle MCLA as the Rams kept the pressure up. 

  • Finally, in the 86th minute, Jasmine Lees would convert off a nice pass from Camryn O'Leary to give the Rams their first lead at 2-1.  Over the final three minutes, MCLA would not threaten and Framingham would get the win. 

  • Oskirko stopped four shots to earn her fourth win of the season.  The Rams would go on to outshoot MCLA 30-10. 

  • Currier collected 12 saves in goal for MCLA.
