Women’s Soccer Blanks Salem State; 1-0

Framingham, Mass.– Framingham State's Calen Frongillo (Franklin, Mass.) scored the game's lone goal in the 7th minute to lead the Rams to a 1-0 win over Salem State in MASCAC play Saturday afternoon at Maple Street Field.  

THE BASICS: 

- Score: Framingham State 1, Salem State 0  

- Records:Framingham State (3-7-1, 1-2-0 MASCAC), Salem State (1-7, 1-1 MASCAC) 

- Location:Maple Street Field - Framingham, Mass. 

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • Frongillo scored the only goal of the game in the 7th minute when a Rams player's shot on net was saved and bobbled by Vikings goalie Lily Pfefferle (St. Paul, MN). A Salem defender attempted to clear the ball but was settled by Frongillo and sent into the open net to give the Rams the only score they would need.  

  • Rams keeper Jetta Oskirko (Lancaster, Mass.) made five saves in the shutout win for Framingham State. 

  • Pfefferle made six saves in the setback for the Vikings.  

  • The Rams controlled the pace outshooting the Vikings 14-to-6 including a 10-to-4 mark in the second half.  

UP NEXT: 

The Rams return to the field on Wednesday afternoon when they host Keene State in non-conference action at 4:30pm. The Vikings will host Endicott in a non-conference tilt on Tuesday at 7pm.
