Late Goal Send Women’s Soccer Past Eastern Naz; 1-0

Quincy, Mass.– Framingham State freshman Melanie Lucier scored in the 82nd minute to break a 0-0 tie and lead the Rams past Eastern Nazarene in non-conference play Thursday evening in Quincy. 

THE BASICS:

- Records:Framingham State (2-3-1), Eastern Nazarene (2-3) 

- Location:Veterans Memorial Field – Quincy, Mass. 

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • After playing a back-and-forth contest with neither team able to convert the Rams broke through in the 82nd minute. After winning a 50-50 ball Lucier dribbled around a Lions defender and connected on a long low strike inside the post to give the Rams the only goal they would need.  

  • Jetta Oskirko earned the shutout win in net with four saves.  

  • Sophia Fevola made five stops and Jasmine Arzu made three stops in the contest.  

  • The Rams held the advantage in shots 15-to-9 and led 10-to-4 in corner kicks.
