Women’s Soccer Bests Anna Maria; 3-1

Framingham, Mass.– Framingham State junior Camryn O'Leary scored the Rams first two goals en route to a 3-1 non-conference victory over Anna Maria Tuesday afternoon at Maple Street Field.  

THE BASICS:

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • The Rams got on the board in the 23rd minute when Camryn O'Leary chipped in a cross from Calen Frongillo around the AMCAT keeper for the 1-0 lead. 

  • Anna Maria evened the score right before half Alexandra Rowland gathered a 50-50 ball and found the bottom right corner of goal to send the teams into the break knotted at one. 

  • The Rams broke the tie with consecutive goals in the 71st and 73rd minutes. First a long free kick by the Rams was bounced around a few times and then chipped in by O'Leary for her second of the afternoon. The Rams scored again when Frongillo finished off Megan Ethier's pass to reach the final margin.  

 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • Jetta Oskirko earned the win for the Rams making eight saves. 

  • Rachel Matloff turned away six shots before giving way to Alice Yokabaskas who made one save in the final 18 minutes. 

  • The AMCATS held a slight margin on shots 13-to-12 in the contest.  

  • The Rams were awarded two corner kicks to the zero earned by Anna Maria.  

 

UP NEXT: 

The Rams return to the field on Thursday when they travel to Eastern Nazarene for non-conference action starting at 7:30pm. The AMCATS will travel to St. Joe's - Maine for GNAC action on Saturday starting at 1:30pm.
