Women’s Soccer Predicted to Finish Fifth in MASCAC Pre-Season Poll

Framingham, Mass.—The Framingham State women's soccer team has been predicted to finish fifth in the 2019 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) preseason poll selected by the eight coaches from around the league.

The Rams finished the conference season at 4-3 and an overall record of 5-12-1 in 2018. Returning for the Rams is senior captain and 2017 All-Conference honoree Erin Angelillo (Southington, Conn.) who anchored a Rams defense a year ago. Also returning for the Rams is sophomore goalkeeper Madison Brown (Attleboro, Mass.) who earned four wins in net for FSU in 2018.

Westfield State, the 2018 MASCAC Tournament champions led the poll with four first place votes for 50 points. In the second spot is 2018 regular season champion Worcester State with 42 points. Right behind in third with 41 points is Bridgewater State followed by Salem State in fourth with 28 points. After the Rams in fifth place is Fitchburg State is up next in sixth with 20 points. Finishing out the 2019 women's soccer poll in seventh and eighth are MCLA and Massachusetts Maritime with 14 and 6 points, respectively.

The Rams open up their 2019 season on Friday, August 30th when they travel to Clark for a 7pm non-conference match.
