RIC Scores Two Late Goals to Defeat Women's Soccer; 2-1

Providence, R.I.-The Rhode Island College women's soccer team scored a pair of goals just over two minutes apart to notch a thrilling, 2-1, come from behind victory against Framingham State in a non-conference contest played at Alumni Field on Wednesday evening. 

Framingham State (3-3) took the lead late in the first half when freshman forward Jana Paecht (Holliston, Mass.) put in a shot from 15 yards out, with an assist credited to senior defender Tess Gorman (Swampscott, Mass.), at the 38:20 mark.  The visiting Rams had the 1-0 lead heading into halftime after outshooting the host Anchorwomen by an 8-5 margin in the first half.

The Anchorwomen struck again at the 86:13 mark when Greenman fired a shot that was saved by Framingham State sophomore Keyonzia Gagne-Lamoureux (East Brookfield, Mass.).  Freshman forward Madyson Christian (Douglas, Mass.) then corralled the loose ball and put in the rebounded shot to propel RIC to the 2-1 victory.

Freshman goalkeeper Amber-Marie Francois (Warwick, RI) had for four saves for RIC, while Gagne-Lamoureux notched five stops in the loss for the visitors.

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will host UMass Boston in a Little East Conference contest at Alumni Field on Saturday, Sept. 24 (1:00 p.m.). The Rams return to the pitch on Saturday, September 24th when they host Worcester State at 4:00 p.m.
