Women’s Soccer Shuts Out Keene State for a 1-0 Victory

Framingham, Mass.- Framingham State sophomore goalie Keyonzia Gagne-Lamoureux (East Brookfield, Mass.) made ten saves on her way to her second consecutive shutout as the women's soccer team defeated Keene State 1-0 in non-conference action Wednesday afternoon in Framingham.

With the win the Rams even their record at 2-2 while the Owls slip to 3-2 on the season.

The game's lone score came in the 19th minute when Jana Paecht (Holliston, Mass.) sent a long low strike into the left side of the net with an assist from Kayla Almstrom (Auburn, Mass.).

Both teams had good looks as the game progressed but the goaltenders on both sides played very well. The Owls had an opportunity in the 76th minute when Taylor Farland (Fisdale, Mass.) hit the post with her shot and Patricia Norton's (Hampton, Conn.) rebound shot went just over the crossbar.

Gagne-Lamoureux held the Owls scoreless while Danielle Warhall (Spofford, NH) made four saves in net for the visitors.

The Owls heavily outshot the Rams 25-to-11 including a 16-to-2 margin in the second frame.

The Rams return to action of Saturday, September 17th when they travel to Fitchburg State for a MASCAC matchup. The Owls return to the field the same day when they host Western Connecticut State.
