Miele’s Hat-trick Leads Women’s Soccer Through USM

Gorham, Maine- Framingham State senior Marissa Miele (Hudson, Mass.) registered a hat-trick en-route to a 4-1 victory over the University of Southern Maine in non-conference action Wednesday afternoon in Gorham, Maine.

With the win the Rams improve to 8-5-2 while USM slips to 3-11.

The Rams opened up scoring in the 18^th minute when Miele sent in a cross from classmate Brini Varetimos (North Attleboro, Mass.). Miele struck again just under ten minutes later when she scored an unassisted goal in the 26^th minute.

USM got on the board early in the second half when Jessica Preble found the back of the net in the 50^th minute.

Miele scored again in the 69^th minute with an assist coming from Angela Pallotta (Sterling, Mass.). The Rams reached the final margin when freshman Megan White (Charlton, Mass.) scored an unassisted goal in the 72^nd minute.

Senior Sara Sullivan (Quincy, Mass.) made 3 saves before being relieved by freshman Jennifer Stevens (Hopkinton, Mass.) who made 1 save in the final 15 minutes.

The Rams outshot the hosts 18-to-6 and attempted 4 corner kicks to USM's 1.

Framingham State returns to action on Saturday, October 24^th when they host Mass. Maritime on senior day at Maple St. Field.
