Women's Soccer Earns Fourth Seed in ECAC Championship

Danbury, CT-- The Framingham State Women's Soccer team has been selected as the fourth seed in the 2014 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Women's Soccer Championship. The Rams (12-7-0) will play host to Eastern Nazarene College (9-9-2) at 7:00 p.m. in the No. 4/No. 5 match-up at Maple St Field on Wednesday night.

After finishing the regular-season with a 14-7-2 record, Wheaton was selected as the No. 1 seed in the 2014 ECAC Division III New England Women's Soccer Championship. The tournament is an eight-team field with a quarterfinal round followed by a semifinal and championship round.

In the first-round contests on Wednesday, November 10, Wheaton (14-7-2) will host Johnson & Wales (10-10-2) at 1:30 p.m., while the second seed University of New England (11-4-2) will host No. 7 Emmanuel College (13-10-0) at 2:00 p.m.  No. 3 Westfield State University (12-5-2) plays Wentworth Institute of Technology (9-8-4) at 2:30 p.m. at Westfield State.

The first-round winners will advance to the semifinals on Saturday, November 15th hosted by the highest remaining seed. The winner of Wheaton/Johnson & Wales will face the winner of Framingham State/Eastern Nazarene in one semifinal, while the winner of University of New England/Emmanuel and the winner of Westfield State/Wentworth will compete in the other semifinal. The semifinal winners will meet Sunday, November 16 for the championship at the same site.

No. 7 Emmanuel (13-10-0) at No. 2 University of New England (11-4-2), 2:00 p.m.

No. 6 Wentworth (9-8-4) at No. 3 Westfield (12-5-2), 2:30 p.m.

No. 5 Eastern Nazarene (9-9-2) at No. 4 Framingham (12-7-0), 7:00 p.m.

Semifinals – Saturday, November 15 at Highest Remaining Seed

No. 1 Wheaton/No. 8 Johnson & Wales winner vs. No. 4 Framingham/No. 5 Eastern Nazarene winner, TBD

No. 2 University of New England/No. 7 Emmanuel winner vs. No. 3 Westfield/No. 6 Wentworth winner, TBD

Championship – Sunday, November 16 at Highest Remaining Seed
